In June of 2004, STEP, Inc. paved the way to ensure that the agency will be here for future generations in need. A board was enlisted and by-laws were created for the newly formed Foundation. The STEP Foundation (a separate entity from STEP with it's own Board of Trustees) will serve as a safety net to help fund emergency needs and provide an additional source of support in the event of legislative funding cuts. Although the Foundation is in the beginning stages, we hope with financial support it will become a viable option for alternative funding. In time, the interest on this account alone could provide the resources to make it through lean years.
